"Beach Bound" is a mixed media composite wall art piece by Jonathan Brown. What in the world could that mean? This piece is comprised of about ten different photographs, individual elements filtered, then the entire piece was hand-brushed (digital paint with a computer mouse) to generate the final image. We hiked through a park on the Kent Island side of the bridge (on what we thought might be the hottest day of the year) to photograph the bridge from a direction and perspective rarely seen.
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge (commonly known as the "Bay Bridge") is a major dual-span bridge in the U.S. state of Maryland. Spanning the Chesapeake Bay, it connects Kent Island on the Eastern Shore to the Western Shore. The original span, opened in 1952 and with a length of 4.3 miles. It was the world's longest continuous over-water steel structure; the parallel span was added in 1973. The bridge is officially named the "Gov. William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge" after William Preston Lane Jr. who, as the 52nd Governor of Maryland, initiated its construction in the late 1940s. [Wikipedia]
